University holidays for me were spent making ‘tea’(coffee), shoving lubricated lead into condoms and packing marabou. Little did I know that counting beads whilst listening to fishing stories would have such a significant impact upon my life and that of my friends. As a Sparton minion I didn’t appreciate that I was actually a fulltime student of the Steve Parton School of Work Ethic. As an alumna, the sense of fairness, value and principle that you have instilled in me runs through like words in rock. Everyone I know that has been inducted in this way now celebrates incredibly successful careers and I collectively speak for the masses when I say thank you. x Your zest for good living and laughter and intense family love make your loss so much harder to cope with. I was always meant to meet you and feel so privileged to have done so. I don’t know what the future holds but I do know that I will deal with it with honesty, conviction and truth. I love you Steve for the life skills that you have helped me to understand and the good that you have helped me to look for in all. “Nothing in this world is difficult, but thinking makes it seem so. Where there is true will, there is always a way.” ― Wu Cheng'en, Monkey: A Journey to the West
