What do you say about Steve Parton. I first met Steve in the late 1970's when I asked him if he would be interested in doing a fly tying class at Friesland School. Which he did for twenty five years. We became friends and I started fishing with him at Rutland in the late 70's. We had many days hard fishing on the rudder. We moved from Rutland to fish Blithfield Reservoir in Staffordshire, where we learnt a few more deadly techniques. Steve then came up with a crazy idea of float tubing. Which he talked me into going and having a go, I never went in a boat much after that. Steve and I fished together, shot together, got drunk together and I think I even kissed him once, we laughed together a lot and cried together. There will be a big void in my life now Steve has gone. My thoughts are with Jeanna, Katie, Jonathon, Leanne, Jannine, Ray, Sam and the rest of the family. Adios.
