Dad (Uncle Horace) was still a smoker when Steve,then about 7,visited for a few days.He looked in absolute horror as Dad lit up and blew out smoke.Steve had never seen anyone smoke before.Dad always brought us a comic each week,generally Film Fun.Steve had never seen a comic before,either,and took to these with gusto.Whatever he said later to his Dad cut no ice because every time after then that he visited us he grabbed any comics lying about,vanished upstairs to one of ou bedrooms and would not emerge until each one had been scoured!
