I didn't know Steve well. However each time I spoke to him to order things he made me laugh and smile. I called once, probably at least 20 years ago when he was making and selling Flying C's. I wanted maybe ten or fifteen but in his inimitable way Steve talked me into buying 50. I caught my first ever salmon on one so it was money well spent indeed. The paper catalogue that Steve produced was read cover to cover regularly as it not only listed wonderful and unusual gear but was an honest and funny read. I send my condolences and best wishes to Steves family. RIP Steve. Richard.
