I've just learned about the sad passing away of Steve Parton (Sparton) I remember as a young boy 13 years old (Now 43) ordering some fly tying materials from his Sparton catalogue WOW what a surprise when they arrived and he had included all these extra freebies, I found him to be a tremendous source of encouragement and help to me in those early days. He was alway very generous and went the extra mile to help, for example when I broke the top piece of my Shakespeare Sigma fly rod no longer in production somehow he found one for me. We never met however we did speak many times over the years by telephone. To sum up WOW what a super nice guy !!
